I believe you.

I don’t think that your pain is “in your head”.

I’m sorry you’ve had to fight so hard to get appropriate care.

I will take your concerns seriously and listen to your story.

I am devoted to helping you reach your goals.

Over the last 13 years of practice, I’ve LOVED helping people like you get pain-free and stay active doing the things they love - whether that’s running, Crossfit, or keeping up with the grandkids.

How it Started

Jaclyn (she/her) is a mom to 4 amazing little humans. In the process of building her family and chatting with other moms, she was blown away by the prevalence of various pelvic issues postpartum. Here, she quickly discovered her passion for pelvic physiotherapy. This soon expanded into other areas of care beyond the postpartum experience. She is deeply passionate about doing her part to help fill gaps in the current healthcare system - where treatment options for many ‘taboo” conditions remain largely unknown and under-researched. She aims to provide welcoming and positive healthcare experiences for all people.

Jaclyn’s approach to care values the complex nature of pelvic health, appreciating the role that social, psychological and emotional factors as well as experiences of trauma can have on the development and recovery of these conditions.

Education

Jaclyn completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology (McMaster University) in 2007. During her time at Mac (GO Marauders!), she served as a student athletic trainer for a variety of varsity teams including mountain biking, cycling, track and football. She also had the privilege of working with elite cyclists through the National Cycling Centre of Hamilton.

In 2009, she graduated from Dalhousie University with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy where she was honoured to receive the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Award for outstanding academic and clinical achievement.

Post graduate

Since graduating, Jaclyn’s husband wishes she would stop taking courses so they can afford to travel. Post-graduate training includes advanced manual therapy through the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and certified acupuncture through the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Jaclyn has completed a variety of courses through Pelvic Health Solutions as well as through Herman & Wallace (USA). She currently teaches a Cesarean Rehab course through Pelvic Health Solutions, a Canadian training company that aims to improve resources and provide evidence-based continuing education opportunities for healthcare practitioners. Her teaching topic is Cesarean birth and the role that physiotherapy can play in helping individuals prepare and recover more completely.

Other

What else is interesting about Jaclyn? She is an outdoor enthusiast, an avid veggie gardener and enjoys brushing her teeth. She plays classical violin as well as Celtic fiddle and sounds fabulous as long as no one is listening. She is also a firm believer that website bios are far too serious and she can’t believe you’re still reading this.
